The UK Treasury and HM Revenue and Customs have launched a new online Customs Academy designed to arm businesses with the knowledge they need to navigate international trade.

It aims to provide professional support and even offer customs-specific qualifications, including the Certificate in Customs Practice and Procedure (entry-level) and the Diploma in Advanced Customs Compliance.

All learning resources are online, so participants can build their customs knowledge and skills whenever they wish, supported by qualified professionals and people who are experts in their fields.

The online portal is designed to increase the capacity of the international trading community, provide advice on industry best practice and create a virtual community for industry professionals.

A statement from the Institute of Export and International Trade said: "The UK Customs Academy will become an essential resource that not only offers leading-edge training and education, but [also] a unique range of individual and business membership benefits."
