MIC is especially pleased to have gained Klöckner Pentaplast, a globally leading manufacturer of plastic films, as a new customer.
Klöckner Pentaplast is a leading manufacturer of both rigid and flexible films and print and special solutions for pharmaceutical and medical products and also food, drinks and cards. Currently, the company manufactures in 18 countries and employs more than 6,300 staff at a total of 61 locations worldwide. The company’s aim is to create sustainable values by supplying their customers with the best film solutions based on the most modern technologies, high quality products and comprehensive services.
The contract provides for the introduction of the following MIC solutions at Klöckner Pentaplast:
- MIC OCS | SCS:
MIC‘s origin calculation system (MIC OCS) ensures a compliant origin of goods calculation process. The MIC OCS SCS sub-module simplifies supplier declaration management by using the MIC supplier web portal which enables the worldwide standardization and unification of processes for obtaining origins of goods information (for example file uploads by the supplier).
- MIC OCS | CALC:
The sub-module MIC OCS CALC enables an automated origin of goods calculation, the use of multi-level BOMs and offers the possibility for top-down & bottom-up calculation including benefit calculation as well as the subsequent issuing of customer supplier declarations.
- Free trade agreements (FTAs), MIC OCS Web, ABAP SAP extraction programmes:
Several EU and Swiss free trade agreements are being specifically introduced into this project and their goods-specific origin of goods rules will be applied. Furthermore, the contract provides for seamless integration between MIC and Klöckner Pentaplast’s SAP system using MIC SAP interface programmes.
MIC OCS makes possible both - the optimized origin of goods calculation through the efficient management of supplier declarations and also the use of savings potential from the application of various FTAs – customers can therefore maintain or possibly even increase their competitiveness as a result.
The project with Klöckner Pentaplast has been running since the beginning of 2018 and the go-live of MIC OCS SCS and MIC OCS CALC is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.
