At MIC, the embrace of artificial intelligence isn’t about chasing tech trends. It’s about designing tools that deliver measurable business value, operational clarity,  and compliance confidence.

Since 2020, MIC has been actively integrating AI and machine learning into our next-generation trade management solutions, with a clear focus on simplifying and enhancing complex customs processes. The initiative is spearheaded by MIC’s Data Science Team, which aims to create a robust AI platform on the MIC cloud to serve various use cases in global trade. These include: 

• Customs Tariff Classification: AI models fine-tuned for trade-specific tasks can automate complex classification processes.
• AI Assistants and Copilots: These tools can guide users through customs declarations with suggestions and instructions, improving accuracy and efficiency.
• Intelligent Trade Document Processing (IDP): AI-assisted Intelligent Document Processing extracts data from unstructured sources such as PDFs, images, and spreadsheets. This eliminates manual entry and enables automation where traditional interfaces are too costly. With AI-assisted tools, trade professionals stay ahead of evolving compliance and operational demands, making smarter decisions faster and with greater confidence. 

Built on state-of-the-art AI, these tools were developed with a single mission: to increase automation in the most intricate aspects of customs and trade compliance processes-  and eliminate reliance on manual, error-prone processes.
