The people driving success behind MIC’s Sales Team

At MIC, our people are at the heart of everything we do. Across North America, our team brings deep industry expertise, global perspective and a shared commitment to helping companies navigate the complexities of global trade. Get to know the individual's driving innovation, collaboration and customer success every day.

Ken Peters | President US and Director Commercial Operations, North America

With more than 30 years of experience in the global trade compliance industry, Ken Peters brings deep expertise and a practical, market-driven perspective to MIC's North American operations. His career spans supply chain management, international logistics and technology, giving him a well-rounded understanding of both operational and strategic commercial needs.

Ken spent the first 17 years of his career working with international freight forwarders and customs brokers, where he held roles across operations and IT. This hands-on background shapes his approach today, particularly in the US market, where customers value speed, responsiveness and real-world problem solving.

As part of a truly international organization, Ken works closely with colleagues across Europe and Mexico, relying on frequent communication and collaboration to stay aligned. While time zones can be a challenge, he believes in finding solutions and making the time to ensure global teamwork runs smoothly. For Ken, one of the greatest advantages of being part of MIC is having a global view of the compliance market, which he deems an essential perspective in an increasingly complex trade environment.

What Ken enjoys most about his work is the independence and accountability within his team, balanced by a strong willingness to collaborate and support one another when needed. Outside of work, he enjoys spending his free time with his wife, children and grandchild.

What is one of the biggest differences to Austrian/European workstyle?

Austrians and Europeans in general have very strict work-life separations. Working hours, vacation time and holidays are respected. After-hours communication is very limited. In the US, working hours are more flexible, for lack of a better term. Availability outside normal business hours is often normal.

Coffee or tea?

Coffee.

East Coast or West Coast?

The East Coast is more direct. You know where you stand with people!

A (fun) thing you know about Austria?

The Sound of Music was filmed there but hardly anyone in Austria knows that.

Alyson Hachey | Administrative Services Manager and Event Coordinator, North America

Alyson Hachey brings more than 14 years of experience in the trade compliance industry, along with five years in logistics, to her role at MIC. Her background spans business development, lead generation through industry networking, invoicing and reporting, giving her a broad, cross-functional perspective that supports both operational and commercial success.

Highly engaged in the global trade community, Alyson serves on committees for the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones (NAFTZ) and the American Association of Importers and Exporters (AAEI), keeping her closely aligned with industry developments and customer needs.

Alyson especially values working with global colleagues. She enjoys learning from different regional perspectives, particularly in accounting and marketing, where diverse approaches to strategy and customer behavior broaden her understanding and keep the work engaging.

She holds a bachelor's degree in business leadership from Baker College. Outside of work, Alyson enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, two children and their yellow labrador. She is also actively involved in her community as the president of the parent teacher organization at her children's school.

What's your go-to productivity tip when working remotely?

My go-to productivity tip when working remotely is to block time throughout my day. I set specific windows for focused work, emails, and meetings. It keeps me on track and prevents the day from getting away from me.

Coffee or tea?

I'd take a latte over anything else.

East Coast or West Coast?

Definitely West Coast! I love a good Arizona hike.

Juan Verdier | Sales Manager, Americas

Juan Verdier brings more than 25 years of experience in the software industry, with a strong focus on global trade management solutions and ERP systems. His career spans operational management, consulting and international markets, giving him a solid foundation in both strategy and execution. Over the past 15 years, Juan has specialized in leading technology-enabled business change, supporting cross-border growth and helping organizations scale effectively.

His primary focus at MIC is on acquiring new customers across Mexico and Latin America while ensuring existing clients remain supported and satisfied. He typically works with organizations that manage high volumes of imports and exports, companies that face complex compliance requirements and rely on efficient, scalable trade solutions.

Juan's global perspective shapes how he approaches the market. He highlights a key difference between selling European software in the US and EU: while US compliance tends to be strong yet flexible, centralized and more reactive, European compliance is often systematic, preventative and documentation-heavy.

Collaboration is central to Juan's work. With a flexible mindset and a highly cooperative team, Juan finds open communication essential to working across time zones, where he believes open channels lead to open conversations and better outcomes.

What Juan values most about working at MIC is the truly global team dynamic. Unlike his previous roles, he feels part of one unified company, where teamwork across regions strengthens relationships, drives results, and helps everyone succeed together.

What's your go-to productivity tip when working remotely?

A routine that is structured.

100% coffee.

East Coast or West Coast?

East Coast because it's where the economic power is.

John Stack | Sales Manager, Americas

John Stack brings over 15 years of experience in sales, along with the past three years focused specifically on global trade. He holds a degree in psychology from Cookstown University, a background that gives him a strong understanding of human behavior, which he uses to build trusted relationships and deliver practical, results-driven solutions for customers.

Although John's academic path began outside of sales, he followed a family tradition into the profession and quickly found his stride. Today, his primary focus is acquiring new customers across the US market, working closely with companies to ensure compliance across import, export and regulatory requirements.

One of the biggest challenges John sees in the business today is maintaining strong alignment between sales and implementation teams. Being part of an international company helps address this challenge. Many large organizations have European roots or operate closely with international partners, and MIC's global presence allows John to reference proven success stories that resonate with both multinational and regionally focused customers.

John describes his typical day as fast-paced and highly engaged: maintaining an up-to-date pipeline, following up consistently with current and prospective customers as well as staying highly responsive to evolving needs. Outside of work, he enjoys spending quality time with his two children and their energetic puppy.

Coffee or tea?

Coffee, definitely.

East Coast or West Coast?

I'd say West Coast, even though I live on the East Coast. People are more laid back and I enjoy it.
