CARM, which stands for CBSA Assessment Revenue Management, is a mandatory multi-year initiative aimed transforming the way duties and taxes are collected on goods imported into Canada. MIC’s successful completion of this testing phase highlights its preparedness for the upcoming CARM launch, distinguishing the company as one of the few software providers to achieve this milestone.
"This achievement ensures that businesses utilizing MIC's services are fully prepared for the transition to Canada's new customs system," said Ken Peters, President MIC-US.
The CARM project aims to streamline and modernize border processes, offering importers a self-service portal to manage their accounts, apply for rulings, submit payments, and monitor compliance activities. MIC's early compliance with CARM requirements positions them as a valuable partner for businesses engaged in Canadian import operations.
