The goal is to minimize the environmental footprint of the building over the whole lifecycle. Some of the measures we incorporated to achieve this were:
- Use no new land for construction
- Reduce emissions from construction by using a hybrid concrete and timber structure
- Life cycle cost calculation and optimization by scenario analysis in the initial planning team
- High space efficiency, flexibility during use, and future conversion capability for additional functions
- High indoor air quality
- Ergonomic optimized workspaces
- Inclusive design at all levels
- Ventilated facade with thermal insulation
- High quality aluminum-wood windows
- Circularity of building components
- Considering sustainable aspects in tendering
- Construction process designed to reduce waste, noise, and dust to protect soil and groundwater
- Resilience of the building against natural hazards like hale, strong wind, storm water, summer overheat
- Connection to public transport
